      WOLCOTT ? Vincent F. McAvoy, 81, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was the husband of Janet (Barrows) McAvoy for 60 years.

      Vincent was born in Waterbury on Nov. 6, 1938, son of Thomas and Mary (Berry) McAvoy. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, class of 1957. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.

      Vincent was an 8,000-hour machinist and worked for Waterbury Farrel and Anamet. He loved the UConn women?s basketball team and the New York Giants.

      Including his wife Janet, Vincent leaves behind his son, James McAvoy and his partner Cheri Smith; his daughters, Lori Trueman and her husband Paul, and Kathy Buczak and her husband Michael; his grandchildren, Cara Frappier and her husband Jake,

      Christopher Trueman and his wife Laura, Ashley Trueman, Abigail Buczak and Olivia Buczak; his great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Frappier, William Trueman and Hunter Trueman; his beloved puppy, Smokie; and extended family.


      Vincent was predeceased by his great-grandson, James Thomas Trueman.
      Services for Vincent will be private.

      Memorial contributions may be made in Vincent?s name to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
