      Joseph A. Shea, 76 Retired sociology professor A funeral mass will be said today for Joseph A. Shea of Osterville, a retired professor of sociology at Worcester State College, who died Tuesday in Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He was 76. Mr. Shea was born in Cambridge. He graduated from Boston College, and earned a master's degree at Harvard University and a doctorate in educational sociology at Catholic University in Washington. He was a professor at Worcester State College for 30 years until his retirement in 1983. He leaves his wife, Rita G. (Babson); a son, Kevin J. of Gardner; a daughter, Maureen R. Viau of Yarmouth; a sister, Mary T. Goulart of Cambridge; and three grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Osterville. Burial is in Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
