CHESHIRE- Lucille A. (Phaneuf) Thibault, 94, wife of the late Dr. Louis J. Thibault Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden.
Born in Waterbury on February 17, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eugenie (Soucy) Phaneuf. She raised her family in Cheshire where she resided for over 45 years and worked as a real estate agent. She was also a sales clerk at Howland Hughes Store in Waterbury and a volunteer at the Mid-State Medical Center. She was a former parishioner of St. Anne Church in Waterbury, St. Bridget Church and the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. She was also an excellent knitter and most every member of her family has a beautiful afghan specially made with love by her.
For the last several years Lucille was a resident at the Curtis Home in Meriden where she received excellent care from their compassionate staff which her family deeply appreciated as well as the staff on pavilion C at Mid State Medical Center.
Lucille is survived by four daughters, Janet and her husband Dr. Berkeley Rich of Littleton, CO, Elaine DeLucia of Cheshire, Evelyn Frigon recently of Watertown formerly of Waterbury, Claire and her husband H. William Wessenberg of Casco, ME, a son Paul and his wife Delcie Thibault of Wolcott, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Dr. Leon, Noel and Roland Phaneuf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Oct. 10, at 10:30 AM at St. Bridget Church 175 Main St. in Cheshire. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday Morning from 8:30 to 10 AM at The DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott.
