METHUEN: John J. Regal, 64, of Methuen, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2015, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, following a long illness. John was born in Cambridge, Mass., and was the son of the late Augustus and Margaret (MacNamara) Regal. John was raised and educated in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School.
John worked for New England Telephone/Verizon for 32 years as a lineman and was a member of IBEW Telephone Workers Union. John was a Cubmaster at St. Joseph’s Church in Medford and was also an assistant Little League coach in Medford. He also loved spending time with his family, friends, his beloved animals, and spending time in his man cave, with his vast collection of model trains, as well as being an avid coin collector.
He is survived by his loving wife, Noreen E. (Eastman) Regal of Methuen; his cherished children, Karyn Regal of Lowell, Noreen “Reene” Regal-Flynn and her husband, Damien, of Stoughton, Allison Regal and Darren Coco Jr. of Manchester, N.H., and Sean Regal of Methuen; and his cherished granddaughter, Alexandra Marie Coco. He also leaves his beloved animals Lady Penelope “Pennie”and Cutie Trudie, and his furry grandchildren Bubba, Gemmi, Amelia, Buster, Darla, and Devin, and his deceased furry buddies, Maggie, Lillie, Mollie, Rosie, and Eleanor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday, April 14th, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 15th, at 11 a.m., at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will be private.
