    1. [S684] Obituary - David Moreira, (Arbor Memorial), https://www.arbormemorial.ca/en/glenoaks/obituaries/david-rennie-moreira/77394.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Rennie Moreira, age 92, on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Northridge Long Term Care Home in Oakville. Beloved husband of Joyce (née Howard) for 46 years. Loving father of David (Meg), Alan (Myra) and Kate. Proud grandfather of Katrina, James, Alison, Eric and Rachel. He is predeceased by his sons, Thomas and John, his brother, Arthur, and his sister, Alison.

David's great-great grandfather, David Stuart Rennie, built Rennie's Mill in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1832. Rennie's River, which runs through the city, still bears the family name.

David was born in St. John's, where he attended Bishop Field School and Memorial University. He then completed degrees from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

David served several years in service with the Royal Canadian Navy, from which he retired in 1963 with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. His naval service was followed by upper management posts in shipbuilding, and the manufacture of passenger railcars and industrial electrical equipment.

A private family celebration of life will take place near Rennie's River in St. John's, Newfoundland, at a yet to be determined date.
