WATERBURY ? Raymond P. Lamontagne, 78, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 14, 2018 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary?s Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after an extended illness. He was the devoted husband of Judith A. (Bosse) Lamontagne.

Ray was born Sept. 15, 1939 in Waterbury, the son of the late Paul and Roseanna (Bisaillon) Lamontagne. He spent many years working as a building estimator at the former J.E. Smith building supply until his retirement.

Ray was a devout Catholic and was devoted to his faith and his family, and was a member of the Carmelites Religious Order and faithfully attended daily Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, where he was an active parishioner for many years.

He was a longtime AA sponsor and was an avid Red Sox and Yankees fan and enjoyed golfing. What brought the greatest joy to Ray was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Besides his devoted wife Judith, of 53 years, Ray is survived by his children, Steven Lamontagne and his wife Jennie, of Southington; his daughter Kristen Fennessy and her husband, Mike, of Southington; as well as his brother, Roger Lamontagne and his wife Dolore, of Southington; and his grandchildren Aiden, Sarah, Tyler and Eric; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was predeceased by his brother, Marcel Lamontagne and sister, Claire Duquette.

Funeral services for Mr. Lamontagne will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery Wolcott.
