      Thomas F. Towne, 70, formerly of East Orchard St., Terryville, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, (December 14, 2000) at the Mediplex of Greater Hartford. Mr. Towne was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Waterbury. He was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Bradshaw) Towne. He was a graduate of Terryville High School and a lifelong resident of Terryville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a dispatcher for the State of Conn. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a member of the American Legion Plymouth Post #20 and the VFW #10240, both of Terryville. He leaves a nephew, William Stiles of West Hartford and his wife, Brigitte; their three sons, Jason, Jared and Jordan; nieces and nephews, LeeAnn Martin of Wolcott, Lorna Griffin of Maine, John Towne of Vermont, and Jamie Towne of New Hampshire; and several grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Jane Stiles and brother, John Towne. The funeral will be held Monday, 9:30 a.m, from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville to the Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Terryville. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, from 3-5 p.m.
