    Notes:

    There's an 1851 census extract form for Joesph Whelehan of in Kilnagarna, Ballinahow. He is the son of Patrick Whelehan and Catherine Galvin, living in Leabeg, Lemanaghan Parish. Catherine could be an aunt.

    In Leabeg/Kilnagarna/Kilnagoolny/Aghifan towns, there are several Galvins who could be his parents:
    * Patrick and Mary (Kellegher)
    * John and Mary (Murray)
    * Edward and Bridget (Gilligan)

    There is a Patrick Galvin living at 111 Scovill Street, Waterbury, CT in 1917 and in the 1920 census, but I don't think this is the same because he is living with daughter Catherine.

    Name:
    This is a PROPOSED connection between Patrick and John and Mary Galvin -- see John page for justification.

    Patrick married Margaret Devine on 21 Jul 1862 in Ballinahown Parish, Co. Westmeath and Offaly, IE. Margaret (daughter of John Devine and Bridget Cantwell) was born on 25 Feb 1848 in IE; died on 21 May 1913 in Waterbury, CT, US; was buried in New St. Joseph Cemetery, Waterbury, CT, US. Generation: 2

  1. 2.  John Galvin

    Notes:

    Name:
    This is a proposed connection between John Galvin and Patrick Galvin. John appears in the Griffiths Valuation for Leabeg townland, which neighbors Kilnagoolny, where Patrick lived and raised children. A John is also the firstborn of Patrick, which follows naming conventions.

    The Ballinahown parish shows a marriage between a John Galvin and Mary Murray 18 Feb 1838 and at least one daughter from this marriage -- Bridget Galvin c. 24 Aug 1845. There are multiple DNA matches between Murrays and Patrick Galvin descendants, and this could be the connection.

    Children:
    1. 1. Patrick Galvin was born in Mar 1844 in IE.
